Self Care with Social Distancing

A lot has changed in 1 week. Most of us are spending more time at home then ever before. If you're not usually much of a homebody, this may feel extra challenging.

Here's what I've found helpful for my and my family's well-being this week: .

☑️Fresh air breaks. You can still maintain social distance and get outside for a walk, some sun, or just a breath of fresh air. I saw a complete 180 in my kids' moods after getting outside yesterday. .

☑️ Eat ALL usual meals and snacks. Your body still needs food every 3-4 hours whether you are home or out.

☑️ Read or watch something that is NOT about COVID-19. I'm currently reading Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng and The Eating Instinct by Virginia Sole-Smith.

☑️ Arrange a call or video chat with a loved one or a clinician. Many clinics, dietitians (myself included), therapists, psychiatrists and eating disorder treatment centers have now gone virtual. Please reach out if you need a resource.

☑️ Utilize a free meditation or yoga resource. Many local studios, yoga teachers, and meditation teachers are now offering virtual yoga classes.
