Podcast Interview on The Happy Diabetic Kitchen

I recently had the immense pleasure of being a guest Chef Robert Lewis’ podcast, The Happy Diabetic Kitchen. We had a great conversation all about intuitive eating for diabetes!

Robert had already been a chef for nearly 20 years when he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Like most newly diagnosed with diabetes, he heard mostly about what he couldn’t eat with the condition and felt worried that his days of enjoying wonderful food were over. Thankfully, he discovered that wasn’t so! He has since become a nationally recognized author, public speaker and spokesperson for all people affected with diabetes.

In our conversation, we discuss what people often misunderstand about diabetes, how weight cycling impacts risk, the four pillars of intuitive eating for diabetes (the backbone of my book), weight stigma, how to handle the food/diabetes police, approachable cooking, and even my favorite childhood food memory.
